About GAF Decking Products’ Lawsuits
Multiple class action lawsuits have been filed nationwide alleging GAF misrepresented the superiority of its decking products when it stated the products were low-maintenance, long-lasting and would outperform traditional wood decking. Unfortunately, complaints filed nationwide tell another story. Plaintiffs claim the decking cracks, warps, swells and expands at unacceptable rates for a product designed for the outdoors and beyond what customers expected based on GAF’s representations. Plaintiffs also state the decking grows mold, mildew and fungus which results in unsightly and extensive discoloration. These problems are occurring regardless of proper installation, maintenance and cleaning recommended by GAF. Finally, plaintiffs state these problems with the decking cannot be prevented nor can they be repaired.
